Suggest Treatment For Constipation & Stomach Cramps
I have been having small stomach cramps that make me feel like I have to go the restroom. When I try to go I am not able to go very much and the little bits of stool that come out look like a small piece of raw ground beef. Never had a problem like this before, should I get it check out?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Cramps with feeling like passing motion but nothing or small quantity coming out is called tenesmus and the commonest cause is colitis that is inflammation of the large bowel. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Get the stool tested and a clinical evaluation by your Doctor to get a prescription based antispasmodic, antibiotic and metronidazole if indicated and probiotics. In most of the cases you will get a relief. If there is no complete relief within 5 day, you may need further investigations of colonoscopy and tests of blood, ultrasonography of the whole abdomen. This will give the final diagnosis and a plan for proper management.
