Hello,

Blood in stools is seen in:
1) Anal fissure
2) Piles
3) Anal fistula
4) Anal furuncle

As you had constipation and you had strained at stools, you might have developed an anal fissure or crack in the anal area which bleeds during bowel movement. The following are treatment options for anal fissure:
1) High fiber diet
2) Anovate ointment is to be applied at anus with an applicator.
3) Avoid straining at stools by making the stool soft with the help of stool softener like Looz syrup to be taken at bedtime.
4) Treat conditions that cause increased abdominal pressure like coughing.
5) If bleeding is high, take tab. Tranexamic acid for 3 days.
6) Tab. Calcium dobesilate to be taken once daily will help heal the fissure.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
