Suggest Treatment For Constipation

Mother has not had a bowel movement for 5 days can t keep anything down she takes her medicine which is suppose to help from getting a upset stomach but does not good . Her back hurts between her shoulder blades and this causes her too reach for a nitro pill, to make the pain go away, it seem as if she has some form of obstruction ,each form of drug which she has been given, cause constipation.Nothing seem to be able to break up the blockage and allow her to flow like normally. And this is of great concern to me, to make sure she keeps her energy up and keep the pain in check till she gets better.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

If she is having a blockage in her gastrointestinal tract then she needs to be seen by her doctor.

An obstruction may sometimes require surgical intervention. This is not needed in all cases but it is a definite requirement in some persons.
It would be best for her to be seen by her doctor as soon as possible.

In addition to physical assessment, imaging of the abdomen may be needed as well.

I hope this helps
