Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello about 2 years ago I contracted dermatitis from hot showers and the problem was that the water pressure on the water heater was turned real high and that s when the dermatitis started I was treated with hydrocordozone creams and cleared up a little but now 2 years later I get real red when I am in the sun taking a hot shower or even when I wake up from sleeping please let me know if you can be of any help
I would like to give some tests: 1. Skin Patch test 2. Complete Blood Count
I would like to start these medications: Clobetasol Topical: Apply a thin layer to affected areas and rub in gently and completely. For acute relief, refer to Cetirizine/Pseudoephedrine.
Follow some guidelines: 1. try to identify the allergen/stimulant which causes dermatitis in you. try to avoid it. 2. use sun protection cream. use SPF 30 before going out 3. Use little cold to normal water. Do not use warm water.
Do not worry. If this treatment does not work, we can give you more steroids regimen or we can also go for immunological treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
