Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Some 10 weeks ago I have had exposure due to walking on a sunny and humid day followed by being in full ac for over 45 minutes. Since then on I am suffering with acute coughing conditions (lots of coughing) and irritation in throat. I tested for CBC and the finding was my Eosinophils is slightly increased - 7. Pl tell me how and in what ways I can get rid of this swiftly ?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Normal oesinophil may range from 1 to 4%.Slight increase may not always be pathologic but slight increase in a context of cough and soreness in throat may be due to allergy (most likely).Toxins, Parasitic and fungal infections are possible causes. I will suggest: -you take an anti-histamine like premalan -An anti cough agent like Dextromethorpham if acute attackes continue -Avoid cold, smoke and dust -Gargle with warm salt water many times per day -Take enough fluids If the problem persist, you may have to see your Doctor for investigation with a throat swap test/culture as bacteria infection or superinfection will be possible and may not necessarily cause changes on CBC result. Hope this will help Best regards
