Suggest Treatment For Cough And Wheezing

Thursday I went to my doctor because my head had been all plugged up for a couple of days and then I started coughing at times and coughed up brown stuff. I was given Azithromycin 250 mg (6) count and seem to feel better today but I seem to have a wheezing which I think is coming from my lungs. Is this a normal process or do you think I should go to urgent clinic tomorrow. I do not feel I am in immediate danger but am wondering if it will get worse.

Hi,

The wheezing is the normal process of healing. In fact, it can be sign of worsening of the condition.

You might have bronchitis like lower respiratory tract infection cause such clinical presentation.

Your chest x-ray and spirometry need to be done for primary workup and to assess severity.

The bronchodilator or short term steroid course can be prescribed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
