Suggest Treatment For Cough, Chest Congestion And Wheezing
Dr, my baby started taking solids and I am giving him cerelac also. recently he was affected with cough and chest congestion along with wheezing. some of my friends say that it is because of cerelac which increases phlegm in the body. ls it true? Should I avoid it?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. It is good that the baby has started taking solids. Cerelac and such things are not really known to cause phlegm or such things but as the doubt goes in your mind the simplest tests of stopping cerelac for three days and see if the coughing, chest congestion and wheezing improve or not; if there is no positive results of stopping Cerelac, restart and continue. There may be local reasons for the wheezing, coughing and chest congestion as it looks obvious; hence it is better to consult a Pediatrician for clinical evaluation, examination, investigations and proper management.
