Suggest Treatment For Cough, Cold And Choking On Phlegm By Infant
4 month old son was prescribed albuterol .5 ml twice a day. My 4 year old and baby have had horrible cough. The whole family got it. The last two days the albuterol has loosened up the mucous in the baby but its caused these horrible choking fits. Pediatrician said he would give baby promethazine so I figured it worked so well for the 4 year old at 4 ml I would help my 4 month old by giving him .5 ml promethazine... have I made a grave? He was so miserable choking on mucous and I thought it was far worse than drying it up which the pediatrician said promethazine would do...
Promethazine has best actions as Histamine 1 receptor antagonism. It is widely used in various allergic disorders by number of pediatricians with best results. Though it has sedative property as well, kindly follow the dosage guidelines as per your pediatrician only.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
