Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My 7 years kid(baby) suffering with lot of cough. We visited a child doctor and with the course still she is not cured. Anyway, for the same issue when we faced last time in other location our regular children specialist suggested nibulization with duolin and budecort and she got cured after 10 days. Can I use the same for now?
Nebulisation is required only when there is wheeze (abnormal sounds heard in the chest due to narrowing of bronchi). Visit your physician to rule out wheeze. In case of frequent wheezing, bronchial asthma is to be ruled out. In case of mild cough, antibiotics and cough syrup is sufficient along with steam inhalation and mouth gargling with antiseptic mouth wash or even warm salt water.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
