Suggest Treatment For Cough, Muscle And Joint Pain With Migraine Headache

My boyfriend has been sick going on 4 weeks now. He coughs, has muscle and joint aches, gets the sweats out of nowhere, and get extremely fatigued in an instant. He will feel pretty good for 2 -4 hours then the symptoms will hit out of the blue and he feels like dying and cant stay awake. Chest xray is clear. I am trying to hard to get him to see a doctor but he is stubborn., Can you tell me what you suspect and which labs / tests I should look at getting ordered. I work as a nurse in the ED and can get these done outpatient if needed. He also gets migraine headaches that present as stroke symptoms. They have been more severe and frequent and he has never had a scan. He is 40 and a smoker

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the episodic severe headache, muscle and joint pain may be in concern with some sort of systemic disorder as leading to adrenergic drive with dying sensation. The common cause may be that of Pheochromocytoma or others.

It is best recommended to consult an expert Physician rather than going for outpatient basis tests, which may turn out normal and the basic condition may be undiagnosed and you feel a false sense of security.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
