Suggest Treatment For Cough, Vomiting And High Temperature In A Child
My daughter, 4, usually very energetic has been lethargic today after waking with a chesty cough. She says it hurts when she coughs although she hasn t coughed much throughout the day. She coughed earlier and vomited some thick pink-coloured mucus (could be colouring from Calpol medicine I had given her prior to this). She has a high temperature and is very out-of-sorts. She has woken almost every night in the past week crying but delirious when we talk to her and in the morning she has no memory of it -Probably something that s been coming all week?
Welcome at HCM I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns. Any history of TB in past or exposure to TB? Have you recorded fever? Any other lymph node swelling in her body? In my opinion she needs to be examined by a paediatrician so that exact cause for her symptoms can be ruled out. she may need antibiotics to get her fever settle. Stay calm and continue with the oral feeds and you can use acetaminophen syrup to control her fever Get well soon Hope your query is adequately addressed if you still have any feel free to ask Regards Dr Saad Sultan
