General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.I can understand your agony.Surgery for sciatica is advisable if you have intractable pain even on medications, physiotherapy and life style modifications like avoiding weight bearing, avoiding lifting weightsavoiding prolonged standing etc.Even if you find any weakness or loss of sensation or urinary problems then also surgery comes into the treatment option.I advise you to use medications after consulting neurologist and after subsidenceof pain do physiotherapy and take intermittent rest.I hope you will be fine without surgery. If any warning signs you observe please contact hospital immediately. Have a nice time
