Suggest Treatment For Coughing, Running Nose And Green Discharge From Nose
Ive had a bad cough and cold for 7 Weeks, now my nose is constantly running and my cough is sore. Ive green discharge from the nose. Either side of the nose and my forehead are in pain. I suffer from acid reflux and allergys in the past. Ive tried every available over the counter product but still no better. Can you help or perscribe anything?
this is probably sinusitis. Antibiotic treatment might help. Corticosteroid nasal sprays may also relieve the inflammation. If you're troubled by severe congestion, there are combination regimens with corticosteroid and decongestant (in the same spray).
I can't suggest any particular antibiotic because you haven't mentioned your medical history and (very important) whether you've taken any antibiotic in the recent past or not. Both of these factors are crucial for antibiotic selection. A good choice for many patients is amoxicillin-clavulanate but you've got to discuss it with your doctor first. Prior (recent) use of other penicillins, cephalosporins or drug allergy might make it inappropriate.
You can contact me again, if you'd like, and I'll be glad to guide you further.
Kind Regards!
