Suggest Treatment For Coughing, Runny Nose And Fever

Hi doctor, my son has been coughing for the past 6 weeks more at night than during the day with a runny nose. Took him to the doctor and he said the cough was caused by post nasal drip. How ever last night his coughing has increased with running nose with flu like symptoms and a temp.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The persistent symptoms of cough and runny nose are likely due to the allergies and post nasal drip as suggested by his doctor but the worsening of these symptoms and the fever signal that he may now have a respiratory tract infection.

These are usually viral. He can continue is topical nasal spray if he is using one of these for his drip.
In addition the use of a decongestant and anti histamine would help with nasal symptoms.

Paracetamol would help to relieve his fever.

I hope this helps
