Suggest Treatment For Cramps And Pain In The Lower Abdomen

I have cramping in the lower stomach and a sharp pain will come and go in the very lower part of the back on the left side. I had an ultrasound of uterus and a CT scan of lower stomach and pelvic. Dr. thought it was my divaticulitus but said it is not. What could it be?

Hi,

As you are complaining of lower abdominal pain, also in the lower left back it may be due to many conditions like intestinal obstruction, appendicitis, kidney stones or ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometriosis etc. Your USG & CT shows no pathology. If same complaint persists, you can go ahead with:
* Blood & stool sample examination for bacterial & parasitic infections
* colonoscopy
* Antispasmodics to relieve pain
* Balanced diet
* plenty of fluids intake.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Get well soon.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
