Suggest Treatment For Cramps In Arms And Cervical Arthritis
Good morning and thank you. I often have cramps in both my arms. They feel numb and heavy but I have no pain no where. I just move them for a while to get a relief. Its usually stronger in the right arm. It s more common at night. What do you think. You may want to know that I have cervical artritis that does not bother me too much and also have a bursitis in my right shoulder for which I had an infiltration almost two years ago. Thanks for your help
You have history of cervical arthritis. Now experiencing numbness, heaviness and cramps in both arms (right>left) - this is what you mentioned.
This can suggest neuropathy secondary to cervical arthritis. Inflammation of cervical vertebra can cause changes in intervertebral disc, which then compresses on nerves to arms, causing neuropathy and such symptoms. Kindly get back to your doctor treating cervical arthritis. After examining, you may be asked for an X-ray neck and nerve conduction study.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
