levonorgestrel which belongs to the category of progestins. It is used as an emergency contraceptive method. This medication helps in preventing unwanted pregnancy if taken within 72 hours of an unprotected sexual intercourse or failure of the usual method of contraception.
Side effects of I pill are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion, headache, sweating, irregular
uterine bleeding, spotting or breakthrough
bleeding between periods, breast tenderness and enlargement, fatigue, changes in appetite, acnes, facial hair growth, changes in body weight, mood swings, depression, changes in sleep pattern, impaired wound healing, easily bruising or bleeding, vaginal bleeding,
vaginal discharge like brown discharge per vaginally, changes in sexual drive, diarrhea, dry mouth, unexplained weakness, tiredness, sore throat, body ache, allergic reactions etc. If these side effects persist for long or bother you then you should consult your doctor promptly for medical attention.
