I have cranial-facial hyperhidrosis. So far, the endocrinologist has been unable to find anything to help. I only perspire when I do something e.g. getting dressed, going out for mail/newspaper & sometimes just in a store shopping. Any ideas?I have an app t at 3:45 today. I have Medicare & CHAMPVA so my visits are at no cost
Craniofacial hyperhydrosis as you talking about could be because of number of conditions such as nervousness, sympathetic overactivity, medical condition related to thyroid, diabetes, anxiety.
Treatment for this is oral anticholinergics drugs to avoid nervousness and for sypathetic control and beta blockers drugs such as propanolol, metaprolol.
You can topicaly use glycopyrolates 0.5% which is very effective.
If condition is severe thoracic sympathectomy is advised which is a surgical procedure.
Get well soon.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
