From the question, I understood that fractured femur caused difficulty in your mobility and eventually lead to your increase in weight. Weight reduction techniques are to be followed like diet control is the most important part, carbohydrates are to be cut, have moderate intake of proteins and low intake of fats.
Take very high fiber diet like fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid processed and packaged foods. Avoid carbonated beverages. Daily exercise for 30 mins a day for 5 days a week is recommended. If you don't lose weight even after following the above for at least 3 months, you may consult a dietician and take strict diet charts.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
