Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I found a crusty place on my scalp by just running my fingers through my hair. It had no pain associated with it, just a crusty spot. I scraped it away, and it left a hole in my scalp where no hair is growing. Could you please tell me what this may have been, or if it s still an issue?
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
Seborrheic eczema, or dermatitis, is a common inflammatory skin condition that causes flaky, scaly patches on the skin, especially the scalp. When those flakes fall off, it's called dandruff. I suggest using a topical antifungal cream or medicated shampoo such as ketoconazole.
Hope my answer was helpful.
If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
Kind regards!
