Suggest Treatment For Cuts On Foreskin After Using Candid Lotion
Hi I am 42 with a normal health condition. After a journey ( due to a death of family member, I was using jeans with same inner garment for 36 hrs continuously in heat area) there is a small cut on the foreskin. Doctor recommend Candid lotion to apply (3 to 4 times) a day with Ciplaetion and Vitamin C tablet. I feel after apply the lotion, I feel the no. of cut increased. What should I do
Small cuts or tears on foreskin is common, and usually does not indicate an infection. Frequent application of lotion increases moisture there, aggravating condition. If at all there is fungal infection, using candid ointment is better than lotion in presence of tears.
In my opinion, what you need is to just keep the area clean dry as far as possible. Apply antibiotic creams like fusidic acid twice daily. Avoid tight clothing. This will disappear in 5- 7 days. Take paracetamol or ibuprofen if painful. If the lesion is not healing in 5-7 days, kindly get back to your doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
