Hello, I m 26 and I went to the dr to have a general Check up. She told me that I have a cyst on my left ovary and that its 4cm. So she suggested I take progyluton for 21 days and after the 4th day of my period I should go back to her. But now I feel that I have been taking so many medications could I stop after just 1 week of being on progyluton. And please tell me if that medication has any negative interaction with accutane and general anesthesia. H

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Progyluton is a combined contraceptive. Cyclical treatment with this type of pills can reduce size of ovarian cyst. The drug does not interfere with action of Accutane or GA. You can stop the pills after 1 week. But this with disturb your menses. You would get bleeding within 8 days of stoppage.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
