Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
small intramural myoma, body as described. rest of the findings mabe secondary to endometritis. complex left adnexal mass with cul de sac fluid, primary consideration is tubo-ovarian abscess versus chocolate cyst. cystic right ovary. what is this mean?
The uterus is made up of 3 layers- the perimetrium- the outer layer, the myometrium- the muscle layer just inside perimetrium and the endometrium- the inner layer.
Intramural (within the walls), myoma (fibroid- this form within the muscle part of the uterus)- Small fibroid seen within the walls.
Endometritis- inflammation of the inner layer of the uterus
A mass is seen in the left side (left adnexal mass). According to the report, may be an abscess (collection of pus) of the ovary or a chocolate cyst
A chocolate cyst is an endometrioma. This is a type of cyst formed by endometrial tissue (tissue from the inner lining of the uterus) goes to the ovaries and forms a cyst.
A cyst was also seen in the right ovary
I hope this helps
