Hi My sister in law was diagnosed with cyst in right ovary, 3.5mm and Dr suggest medicine to be taken for 3 month and then rescan , now when we scan again it has increased in size 3.8 . We took the CT scan and MRI the report yet to come , also Dr has suggest to take CA125 test which we go the result today and it shows as 43 Do we need to worry on this value , does this symptoms of ovarian cancer Regards Syed
Hello dear I understand your concern According to NABL laboratory reference range for the CA-125 So your level is not so high. So it could be due to benign cyst. Cancer possibility is less. But regular follow up should be done. I would suggest to tell the doctor about Risk of malignancy index (RMI) RMI score will depend on the menopause age, Ultrasound abnormality and CA -125 level. If it will high (>200) then high possibility of malignancy. Hope this may help you
