Suggest Treatment For Dark Skin Pigmentation Under Armpits, Neck And Inner Thighs

Hi, I am 23 years old. Since my childhood my underams, neck and inner thighs are black in colour. Also from 15years of age, acne is started on my back as well as on my face. I have tried many different soaps and body washes for them but it never reduced. They kept on coming and left me many marks on my back and face. In last 1 and half year, I put on 15kgs weight suddenly. Due to that, my periods are stopped from 6months. Now, the places which are blacks are becoming more dark and acne is also increasing. Please help me with this..

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Acne is due to a combination of factors: (1) inflammation of the skin
(2) excess production of a waxy substance called sebum
(3)blockage of hair follicles
(4)presence of a particular bacteria

It would be best to treat as many of these as possible. There are topical and oral treatments.
You may want to try a topical retinoid or a topical antibiotic like clindamycin. Benzoyl peroxide is also helpful.

Your GP or a dermatologist would be able to start a treatment for you.

Weight loss would help. With a history of increased weight, irregular periods and acne, you may have a condition called PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome).
Weight loss is recommended in this condition as part of the treatment.

This can be diagnosed with blood tests and imaging (ultrasound).

I hope this helps
