Understanding your concern. As per your query you have degenerative discs and arthritis. Well degenerative disc disease can be successfully treated with conservative , meaning non-surgical that is care consisting of medication to control inflammation and steroid medications delivered either orally or through an epidural injections and physical therapy and exercise. Surgery is only considered when patients have not achieved relief over six months of nonsurgical care . For arthritis orthopedic surgeon prescribe NSAIDs , capsaicin or disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs . For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pian and drink plenty of water .
