Suggest Treatment For Dehydration And Throat Irritation

very dehydrated yesterday and kept clearing my throat due to scratchy irritation - it got so bad that I felt like my throat muscles were scraping. Then after hours of this, I went to clear my throat again and there was bright red blood. It stopped after I spat 3 times - but it has me very worried. IT has not happened again in 24 hours. what would do this?
