Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I m 28 years old. Tomorrow will be the 4th month I ve gone without a period, and I feel like I m going to burst after only a few bites of something. Other than missed period, I haven t experienced ANY symptoms of pregnancy. No spotting or anything. Please help if you can. what could be going on with me?
A pregnancy, after 4 months, would be able to conclusively determine if you are pregnant.
If this is ruled out then the other causes of delayed period should be considered such as: (1)polycystic ovarian syndrome (2)emotional stress or illness (3)thyroid disease (4)physical illness (5)high levels of the prolactin hormone (6)side effect of medication
Blood tests can check the thyroid, levels or prolactin and are also used to diagnose polycystic ovarian syndrome. Imaging of the ovaries/uterus may also be suggested by your doctor.
I hope this helps
