Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 9 days late with my period... I had a tubal 6.5 years ago... Currently using metformin (18 months) as well as invokana same time... October 2016 started taking Crestor... Period 2 days late in October... I m 46 years old... Should pregnancy be a concern?
Let me know you diabetes can also lead delayed period (you are taking metformin Hence you will mostly having diabetes) Check your sugar level by RBS estimation...
As your period 9 days late, if you have unprotected intercourse history than yes pregnancy should be ruled out by simple urine hcg card test and USG if needed
Also check your thyroid level by serum TSH, T3, T4 estimation....
Excess stress, prolonged fasting, obesity etc also contributory factors
If no cause found Hormonal profile checked and USG done for further work up... (USG helpful in rule out organic cause like ovarian problem)
Take care
