Suggest Treatment For Dental Problems During Pregnancy.
My wisdom teeth are partially erupted and I have been told by my dentist that they will not grow anymore. Over the last 3 or 4 years I have had on at least 3 occassions a problem where the gum around one of the widsom teeth becomes very painful and swollen and I have find it difficult to open my jaw, eat and it hurts to swallow. I suspect that it is Pericoronitis. Normally I seem to fight if off after about 5 days using mouth washes and salt rinses; however, I am concerned that it could lead to more serious infections in my jaw? Also, my husband and I are trying for a baby - could having Pericoronitis during pregnancy damage the baby? Thank you for your help.
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion as it is recurrent infection I suggest you to take dental opinion as you might need antibiotics. If any procedure needs to be done it can be finished before the conception.Because any dental or other procedures are allowed in 2 nd trimester only. And any infection in the body might cause miscarriage or preterm labours etc.So get it treated early.
