Suggest Treatment For Depression After The Death Of A Loved One

I have been treated for depression - eating disorders n the past with Effexor It s been 4 years since I was last treated and have been fine. However my father passed away in November and I am feeling down again. I have never had suicidal thoughts. I just do not have insurance and am a single mom. How can I get treated and back on medication to help get through this grieving time?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. I understand your problem and let me say you that it is important that you ask for help. I will suggest to take an appointment with your psychiatrist doctor, to get a professional help and a regular follow up. Taking medication without seeing a doctor is not safe. Hope the best for you.
