Suggest Treatment For Depression And Anxiety After Quitting Weed

I have quit marijuana 3 weeks ago and alcohol 2 weeks ago. I was d/x adhd with anxiety. I have feelings of depression due to stress from failing a course 3 years ago. I began to drink heavy and use marijuana 1x's daily. Now that I quit, I continue to smoke cigarettes. I am taking vyvanze 30 mg. for adhd, which is improving my symptoms associated with adhd. I am now expiriencing depression, lethargy, trouble sleeping, anxiousness, difficulty expressing my thoughts, and writing. Will this all improve if I quit cigarettes, continue to abstain from marijuana and alcohol, and start drinking water?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM

You have been taking Marijuana (weed), alcohol and are also smoking cigarette. Even after passing the acute withdrawal phase some individuals continue to experience slight restlessness, anxiety, depressive symptoms for long times. Such symptoms are called protracted withdrawal. Cigarette smoking is in fact potentiating such anxiety symptoms. So I would advise you to stop using cigarette. The symptoms like restlessness anxiety will improve with relaxation exercises, yoga, meditation etc modalities.
As alcohol withdrawal causes anxiety so taking low doses benzodiazepines usually helps in reducing the symptoms of restlessness and improves the situation.
Consult a psychiatrist for evaluation of symptoms and prescription of these drugs.

Thanks.
