Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,

From what you have mentioned, it seems that you are suffering from depressive episode. In that case, your symptoms of feeling sad and irritable, crying, sleep disturbances and not having any interest in anything is understandable.

You should seek a psychiatric consultation for initiating treatment. You will need treatment with anti-depressants like sertraline or venlafaxine. In addition, option of cognitive behavior therapy can also be considered which will include regular sessions aiming at relaxation and changing the maladaptive thinking patterns.

Hope this information was helpful. Wishing you speedy recovery.
