hi,subhash, thanks for writing.. i have understood your concerns...
thinking about something and finding in an uncomfortable position are vague symptoms, but the fear of death and going crazy occurs with anxiety attacks [panic attacks] which typically lasts for 5 to 10 minutes and subsides on its own..
in the beginning of the attack person may feel,
palpitation, sweating, breathing difficulty, uneasiness,
dizziness, fainting, nausea, vomiting..
there is extreme anxiety, person feel that he will die, there is feeling of impeding doom and going crazy..if these episodes are occurring repeatedly then it is panic disorder..and if it is related to particular situation then it is panic disorder with
agoraphobia..
with this frequency of symptoms it is really distressing...in my opinion you shud take him to
psychiatrist and tell detailed history..he will make a diagnosis and treat accordingly..
keep in mind that cardiac assessment shud be done at least once to rule out any cardiac pathology..
panic attacks cab be treated with
antidepressant medications along with anxiolytics..
i hope this advice will be helpful tp you..best of luck..
