Suggest Treatment For Depression

Hello Doctor,My query is for one of my family member who is suffering from mental illness/severe depression (we are not sure) since last 3 months. He says someone is going to kill him and is always scared. he is not meeting people/not talking with anyone...he is not even sharing the reason for his fear...he endedup taking heavy dose of sleeping pills recently and had to be rushed to hospital..now he does not sleep without one at night...what kind of treatment/counselling would you suggest? We are very very desparate for the help/....please help..Many Thanks
