Suggest Treatment For Depression

Hi doctor. you may not be able to answer this if you aren't in my area, but I know I have depression, I've never talked about it but I know I have the symptoms. I'm never happy, I feel like crying all the time, I overeat, sleep too much, have headaches, I'm always tired and I hate myself. Are there doctors I can talk to about this for free? Our family is low on money..

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

I understand that you are going through a difficult time due to your symptoms. Many of the symptoms that you have described like feeling low and sad, crying excessively, tiredness, sleep and appetite disturbances, etc. are indicative of depression.

However a detailed history and an in-person psychological assessment is necessary to confirm the diagnosis. So, you need to see a psychiatrist in your place for a detailed evaluation, but I'm not sure anyone will do it for free. This website can offer you only advise and guidance on your health problems, but you will have to meet a doctor in person for treatment.

There are effective treatment options - in the form of medication and psychotherapy, which will help you overcome your depresssion. So, please consult a psychiatrist for further evaluation and treatment.

Wish you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar
