Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi Megha,

I read your query and can understand your concern regarding your symptoms. From what you have mentioned, you seem to be suffering from depression. The anger and irritability are all manifestations of depression.

I would have liked to know how long are you having these symptoms and is there any relationship of the onset with child birth. I would suggest you seek a psychiatric consultation without any further delay. You will need treatment with antidepressants like escitalopram. With proper treatment, you will feel better and you symptoms will go off.

In addition, you should start exercising daily as that will also help you relax. Discuss your problems with your family members and express what you have been going through. Letting out your feelings helps in relaxation.

Hope this information was helpful. Best wishes.
