Suggest Treatment For Detached Toe Nail From An Injury

Hi, I banged my toe and almost completely tore the big toenail off. It is only attached at the cuticle area. I have it wrapped right now in a paper towel. It doesn t really hurt too much right now. This happened about 45 minutes ago. It was bleeding pretty badly but now I think the bleeding has slowed down. The nail is covering the nailbed right now. I was afraid to rip it off. What am I supposed to do?

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
The toe nail injury can be treated with either removal of the complete nail if it is damaged severely, usually done under local anesthesia. Nothing to be panic, consult a general surgeon and get it treated. Mean while take a course of antibiotics preferably penicillins.
I hope i have answered your query. take care
