Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am diabetic and well controlled with victoza and metformin...last A1c was less than 6. I developed Bells Palsy just a couple of days ago and was put on a 10 day steroid regimen. The Dr says it will probably raise my blood glucose so I have to be very careful with diet. A friend is a Plexus rep and she recommended the product as ...according to her...it was developed to help with diabetes. I m having a hard time finding any info on this product other than what the company and its many many representatives offer on the internet. Do you have info on this product and if so what is your opinion? Thank you, Tammy
As per my clinical experience, though steroids can raise the blood sugar levels, there is no alternative to steroids in the condition of Bell's palsy therapy. Take anti-diabetic medications regularly involve in aerobics, control body weight, avoid smoking or alcohol if consuming. Remain in regular consult with your doc for periodic evaluation of HBA1c and control blood sugar.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
