Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea, Abdominal Bloating And Flatulence
My 22 year old daughter has had diarrhea now for 10 days straight. She has bloating, gas, abdominal discomfort and watery diarrhea. We have tried Imodium and we have tried Pepto Bismol Maximum strength. Nothing touches it. Today, she has a lot of blood coming from her rectum. She sent me a pic and it terrified me to see so much blood on the toilet paper. She has been trying all morning to get in touch with her supervisor to leave work but unfortunately no one is responding. Can this wait until morning to see our regular doctor or should we take her to Urgent Care or the Emergency Room tonight??
Hello, I have gone through your query and understand your concerns.
It is very important to take her to emergency as it is not good to keep her over night with that bleeding which causes low blood pressure and not good for her. Give her more fluids and hydrate. If she was my patient I will definitely give her Inj.metronidazole IV and Inj.ethamsylate to control her bleeding and maintain her BP by IV fluids if needed. Hope this answers your query.
Regards, Dr.Alekhya.
