Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea And Constipation Due To Bowel Resection
Hi I m Aimee. I have a question! August last year I was diagnosed with Crohn s disease. Last November I had a small bowel resection. Ever since this I have had ongoing diarrhea followed by periods of constipation. At the moment it has gotten so bad that I m feeling nauseous and have stopped eating. I m currently losing weight and am feeling awful have you any advice on what this may be?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of being diagnosed as Crohn's in August last and has a small bowel resection in Nov last. Since then you have alternating diarrhea and constipation, Now it is severe enough to cause nausea, loss of weight and stopped eating. I would advise the following in such a situation: With the picture you have given, I think you need to be re-investigated properly to find the cause of such a problem. Colonoscopy. Contrast CT scan of the whole abdomen with enteroclysis. Tests of stool, blood and urine. Clinical trial with proper medications as per the findings of the clinical evaluation and examination along with the reports of the investigations to get a proper diagnosis and have a proper plan of management.
