Hi,

The sudden weight loss with diarrhoea and blood in stool suggestive of acute intestinal lesion or dysentery. So his further workup needed in form of stool routine micro examination and colonoscopy examination.

According to cause specific treatment given. The antibiotic should be given if bacteria and pus cells identified in the stool.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
