Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea And Rectal Bleeding

My husband has been dealing with liquid stools for a couple weeks, he has also been bleeding profusely from the rectal area - so bad he s bleeding through underwear and pants. He s dealt with hemrhoids a do this isn t the same - I think he should seek immediate medical attention, he wants to wait it out. What could it be and should we see a doctor right now?

He could have an intestinal infection, diverticulitis, some kind of arteriovenous malformation, or many other things. The only way to know for sure is for him to get checked. He will probably need a colonoscopy. This kind of bleeding is not something to wait out. It's unlikely to be just a hemorrhoid with that amount of bleeding. There are blood vessel abnormalities that can occur in the rectum that can lots of bleeding. He needs to find out what's going on and get the bleeding stopped. Urge him to get seen promptly. Hope this helps.
