General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Diarrhea in a child could be caused by bacterial, viral or parasitic infections or just food poisoning.A stool exam/culture and sensitivity test with some other blood tests will be needed to know the cause of diarrhea and how it will be managed.I suggest you take the child to the Doctor for examination and work-ups.In the mean time, i suggest you place the child on oral rehydration salt and zinc tablets to replace the ions he is losing through stool.
Stay blessed
