Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea, Vomiting And Fever

Saturday My husband started with diarrhea and vomiting with a low fever of 100.1 Sunday he had a temp of 93.6 and diarrhea today he continues with the diarrhea and temp is 96.5. he says his stomach feels bloated and he feels worse when he is up and moving around. Should we be concerned it is more than just a flu bug? Other than the vomiting he has shown no signs of improvment

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your husband have symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting and fever which seems to be due to acute gastroenteritis and electrolyte imbalance in body. I would suggest you not to panic at all. You should start treatment with combination of fluoroquinolones and ornidazole. Give him banana on daily basis and light food. Avoid giving any sharp and spicy food. Drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate him. Visit general physician once and get it examined. You should go for blood tests as well and start treatment after proper examination. You should give Ibuprofen to your husband along with proton pump inhibitors as well. I would suggest you to take antiemetic like domperidone and ranitidine for gastritis.
