Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea
My husband started getting diarrhea for many hours approaching 24 and its happening every 1/2 hour to hour with stomach discomfort which is the trigger for him to go to the bathroom. It doesn t seem to be subsiding and he is now feeling tenderness on his right side towards the lower right flank. No blood, or fever. I m concerned because he has diabetes and has had a heart attach in 2012 and a stint was inserted in the small blocked artery. We think it might have been some food he ate that was left out several hours.

I will suggest you not to worry and just keep your patient well hydrated. ORS (oral rehydration salts) mixed with water to be given to him for his each single diarrhea.24 episodes will require almost 4 to 5 liters of fluids. i hope he has already started taking hydration. But if has not taken any, he must go to the emergency of nearby hospital for immediate re hydration. Severe dehydration may lead to blockage of his stent. Meanwhile do not skip any dose of his heart medications especially his aspirin. Tenderness in right lower side of abdomen may be because of this colitis but this may indicate appendicitis. It is better to get him checked by a doctor in emergency.
