Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Breathing And Cough
I fell onto my rib onto a table on my deck and think I heard a crack. I can move but feel discomfort when I talk a deep breath and lean different ways. I feel mild to moderate pain when I cough. I m concerned about lung related issues. Should I go to the hospital and take an X ray?
Chest X-Ray will show up whether or not there is any rib cages fractures or something. You may think why I gave blood tests.
Because I want to get confirmed that there is no bacterial infection. If there is a fracture, there may be inflammation of other surrounding tissue which also may lead to infection, especially bacterial.
Chest USG will show up whether there is any fluid accumulation. Meanwhile, if you feel pain on resting, please take ibuprofen 300 mg when needed. Do not worry.
It may take some time but will get complete cure. So, please do the tests and post here as we have good doctors who can follow you up and suggest you the best treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
