Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I took half a citalopram pill it did not go down right and got stuck by my tonsil and dissolved. It tasted so badly. I drank some milk which helped. Ever since I have had difficulty swallowing. It hurts. This happened Tuesday night. It s now Saturday night.
I would advise you to eat soft food and drink plenty of fluids and also chew your food well before you swallow it. You may take ibuprofen for the pain (drink it with plenty of water).
If the food or pills continue to get stuck in the throat or you are not better in a week, please see your doctor.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
