Suggest Treatment For Discharge From Nose To Back Of Throat

Since last January, I have had nasal problems. I have had very little discharge from my nose. My nose and snot is stick and discharge back of my throat. Causing me to have a dry mouth. My have to gag to spit out the mucas out of my throat. I saw an ear doctor. I have a little fluid build up behind my assation tubes. She has recommended to see an ENT. But the will be for another month. What could this be caused from.

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have discharge at the back of the throat and dry mouth . Well there can be many reasons for discharge , but in your case it seems me that your are suffering from sinusitis and due to sinusitis there is discharge at the back of the throat , which is also known as pot nasal drip . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper checkup . Doctor may order test like throat swab test , viral culture test and CT scan . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin or penicillin along with decongestant and anti inflammatory . For now do warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day . Suck sugar free candy and keep yourself hydrate for dry mouth .
