Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a cold sore outbreak 3 and a half weeks ago. It has healed but left slight discoloration on my lip. Most of the time it s barely noticeable but then out of nowhere it ll get red and inflamed again and then eventually go down (sometimes minutes later). Am I crazy or is there a reason it s changing color/size throughout the day(s)?
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query. The pigmentation can be because of the healed lesions caused by the herpes virus. This is a normal phennomenon. Nothing to be panic, consult an oral physician and get it evaluated once. If there is any change in the color or size near the pigmented area, you need to get it evaluated. I hope i have answered your query. Take care
